It's a BOY!

We finally found out today! So, Eli it is! (Elias Gregory is the full name, but I've been calling him Eli for months now!) We went shopping today after the ultrasound and got him his first Astros outfit! :) I couldn't find a newborn one, so I still need to get him one of those. We'll go in the gift shop when we go to opening day in a few weeks! I figure I'll be watching most of the games from home this season, but we are at least going to that one.

We went and ordered this furniture for him today. I love it and we got both pieces! I'm going to try a baseball/Astros theme for the room if I can find the stuff. I went to Target today to get this baseball pig bank I've been looking at for months and of course they didn't have it. I knew I should have bought it already! Oh well, hopefully they will restock soon!

Vacation!!!!!

Our room!
The view from our balcony! Fossil Rim Jason made a friend!
Attack of the Zebras!

We had such a great time on our vacation! We went to Granbury, TX for 4 nights and it was so relaxing. Our room was AWESOME, with a comfy king-sized bed and two-person jetted tub! The breakfasts were so delicious and I was lucky to get a couple of the recipes before we left! We took a tour of the Bureau of Printing and Engraving in Ft. Worth on Tuesday. It was so interesting to see how our paper money is made! I didn't realize how much work went into making it! The next day we went to Fossil Rim, this great wildlife reserve where we got to drive through and feed lots of animals! We had an ostrich halfway in the car at one point and were surrounded by zebras a little after that. We saw several of the giraffes, but I guess they weren't hungry because they weren't coming up to any of the cars that day. I was sad about that, but the zebras made up for it! After that we went and did a tour of the Dublin Dr. Pepper bottling plant. They still use real sugar there, so the drinks were SO MUCH better than what we get at the store now. Our last day there we did some walking around Granbury and had lunch, took advantage of the swing down by the lake, and had a nice anniversary dinner. It was a very relaxing time and I'm a little sad to be home! (Mom, I hope you enjoy the deer pictures! Be sure to show Dad!)

Baby Gifts

Mom mailed us the most adorable gift this week! My Granny made these awesome burp cloths for the baby! It's so great to see my family be involved. I know its hard with us being so far away. It's just so nice to see that they are all thinking about us and our little-one-to-be!

Furniture!

We finally found a couch we liked yesterday, so hopefully by the middle of the month, this lovely living room suit will be in my living room! We bought the couch, ottoman, and a recliner! It was very comfy and I can already see myself napping in the recliner!

Anniversary Present!

Woo Hoo!!!!!! I finally got my mixer! This year's anniversary gift was appliances, so Jason broke down and got me one. He gave it to me early so I could play around with it this week. We got up and made biscuits in it at about 7am yesterday. It's so nice! I'm going to try to make a homemade cake with homemade icing this week, so we'll see how that turns out! I've wanted one of these for so long and it's so awesome to finally have! I can't wait to start baking!

March 18th!

Mark your calendars! We will find out the sex of the baby! Yay! I do have to admit that I went shopping a little at the beginning of the week and picked up a few outfits. They were winter clothes that were on a great clearance sale at Kohls. If we are having a girl, I will have to return a couple of them since they are blue. Or, keep them since I know about 4 other pregnant friends! I was hoping to go look at baby furniture this weekend but I've been really sick for most of the week. I don't know if its just a cold or maybe the flu, but it's kept me in bed for 3 days now. I started a round of antibiotics last night so I hope that will help it clear up. I always end up with a sinus infection every single winter, so that's probably part of it.

Here are the outfits I got, as well as Horton, who goes along with one of the books we bought a few weeks ago. I also put the new nursery furniture we like. I just have to figure out a place locally to get some of the furniture we like! I decided to focus on cribs that are JPMA certified since they have passed safety tests. I like this set because it is simple yet beautiful. I can see it becoming furniture for a toddler, and then a kid!

Hard at Work!

Jason is hard at work this weekend staining the awesome litterbox cover my good friend at work made for us. I love it and I can't wait to get it all set up! Moving and hiding those will be the first step in getting the future nursery all ready for the baby. We did manage to get the old bed out last weekend, so hopefully the whole room will be cleared out by the end of the month! I can't wait to start working on it. My next doctor's appointment is tomorrow, so cross your fingers that they set up a time next month for the BIG ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby!

We did buy the baby something yesterday, so I thought I would share! I LOVE the little giraffe; he's musical AND soft! :)

Nursery Furniture

I found these at JC Penny and I absolutely love them! I think we may get these and then a cheap changing table to match. I liked the changing table that comes with it, but I don't think it will be that useful after a few years. I'd rather save that money for other things! Jason likes it too, so I think we will probably get it once we start working on the nursery! Yay

It Just Might be a BOY!

I went in for an ultrasound today and they were able to get some pretty good shots! One showed that it *might* be a boy, but the tech said not to go out and buy anything just yet. I should have the chance to find out for sure in about 6-8 more weeks! How exciting!!! I went to the library today to check out some baby name books since Jason and I aren't finding boy names we both like. I love Elias and Caleb but he doesn't. Don't you think it's the prefect year to pick a name that could use Eli as a nickname? GO GIANTS!!!

New Card

Forgive my horrible photography skills! Today I actually felt like making a card! I cleaned up my craft room and decided to try my hand at a new card. I wanted to use one of the sets I'd bought used and never tried. I found a card on Splitcoaster Stampers that I decided to CASE, but didn't really have all the supplies. Here's my version, and I think it looks okay. I wish the picture was better, but I'm not that good at taking photos of my paper crafts. I would love some hints if anyone has any!

Here's the recent ultrasound picture from my appointment on Friday. Everything is looking good according to the doctor! They sent me for a ton of bloodwork so let's hope that all comes back okay. Our next appt is Feb 18th!

I know its still really early, but...

how cute is this??? I love it! I have some good ideas for boy rooms too (Astros, of course!), but I really had not found any girl stuff that I was crazy over until this one. I LOVE it! http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/kli/kli8501bed4.html

Finally....a card!

I finally felt like making a card over the weekend and here's what I came up with. It's not my favorite, but I was playing around with some old and new stuff. It was nice to do something besides sleep!

First Baby Present!

The little one received his/her first gift this week, a very cute stuffed horse! The picture is a little dark, but it is such an adorable animal! Thank to Ms. Juanita on my van pool!
I'm feeling a little better this week, but still really tired. It must take a lot of energy to grow a baby because I'm worn out! It's a struggle to stay awake past 8 o'clock now. Jason has been a sweetie and will sometimes go crash with me so I'm not all alone. We went out for Mexican food last night and it was YUM! I haven't had fajitas in a long time and boy were these good! I'm not sure what we'll get into this weekend. I need to actually plan out a menu for the week and go shopping! That's the next thing on my list for this morning, after breakfast of course! There's a garage sale with baby stuff going on across the street, but I still think it might be early to buy anything, so I'll hold off. I've been looking at bedding and cribs and all that fun stuff, but I keep finding more and more I like so it's hard to choose! If it's a boy, he will definitely have an Astros room. I just hope he'll like baseball as much as I do! I hate to do pink for a girl, so I'll probably either go with purple, or at least brown and pink together.
That's enough of my rambling. I need to go be productive while I'm actually awake!
